Alpha Kabamba , Project Manager for Project Mazao

As a Project Manager for Humanity Africa’s Project Mazao Alpha drives the project management, research and recruitment on the ground in Zambia. Having worked for Food Reserves Agency (FRA) and Development Aid from People to People (DAAP) he holds practical and theoretical knowledge of development projects at the grassroots level. He provides the much needed technical knowledge and expertise in project planning and management and troubleshoots in areas of project design.

Atiq Rehman, Brand Management and Marketing Analyst

Atiq is an experienced online marketing specialist, having built a career that devises successful online marketing campaigns by providing strategic direction and consultancy including experienced project management skills. With a career in digital marketing that has spanned 8 years. Atiq works with Humanity Africa to set up its online marketing strategy, lead on brand management and is the international webmaster. Having worked with more than 50 small businesses in the UK and internationally Atiq brings to Humanity Africa a global understanding of online markets and trends to develop the organisation’s online presence.

Bhupinder Baidwan, CEO

Having developed a successful career in large scale building and construction in the United Kingdom Bhupinder brings in invaluable expertise on capital project development and scaling up. Being the brainchild of Humanity Africa, Bhupinder remains the main investor in the project where he aims to help farmers help themselves in fertile lands where potential is endless. Bhupinder also runs several successful businesses in the UK including a PR and Marketing firm that works with small businesses to promote their work in the UK communities.

Dr. Arminder Singh Sandhu, Advisory member

Dr. Arminder Singh is a scientist at the National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research, S A S Nagar, Punjab in India – which is an autonomous body under the Ministry of Chemical and Fertilisers. Dr. Arminder holds an MSc in Zoology and a PhD from Panjab University, whilst specialising in both Botany and Medicinal Botany. Arminder provides expert advice in agricultural product development and programme design, including detailed analysis of crop rotation methods and risk management.

Dr John Bangala Wawa Basila, Health Specialist
Dr Basila is a General Practitioner and a Congolese national, residing in Zambia. After graduating from School of Medicine of University of Kinshasa, D R Congo in 1995 he worked in the DR from 1995 up to 2002, before being employed by Ministry of Health of Republic of Zambia in October 2002. Dr Basila has worked in various District hospitals in Zambia (Kawamba District Hospital in Luapula Province , Zambia 2002 to 2005, then Mwandi Mission Hospital, in Western Province 2005 to 2010. He then worked in Mkushi District Hospital, in Central Province Zambia from 2010 to 2015. He now runs his own private clinic, Lesa Wesu Medical Centre, in partnership with 3 other Zambians.

Jitka Markova, Advisory member, Gender and Migration Specialist

By academia an engineer, Jitka developed her career in the non-profit sector through specialisation in integration, migration and gender issues. By designing and developing third sector programmes in international development in the Global South and the UK, she has extensive working knowledge of violence against women and specialised knowledge in gender based violence and honour practices within Muslim communities and other migrants. She has developed expertise in monitoring youth development programmes across the EU and Sub Saharan Africa and has strong understanding of social responsibility investments. Jitka plays a vital role in advising the organisation’s development through Diaspora dynamics, the take on gender policies integrated into Humanity Africa’s programmes and plays an integral role in programme design.

Karthik Durgaprasad, Advisory member, Small and Medium Enterprise Specialist

Karthik is a diverse business manager with 12 years of strategic and operational level experience in the private sector and enterprise agencies and is a business relationship manager at Barking and Dagenham Enterprise (BDE); it is one the leading enterprise development organisations in London with a budget of £33 million and has a diverse range of programmes. To advise clients on strategic growth he uses his cross-country experiences derived from being of Franco-Indian origins, studying as an undergraduate in India and completing a MBA in London coupled with work experience in the UK. He draws on his international expertise to bring small and medium enterprise support to rural farmers in Zambia and help them develop self-sustainable businesses.

Mehar Singh,  Advisory member

Mehar Singh a retired Superintendent of police in India, currently develops sustainable commercial agricultural projects in Punjab and Lusaka. A successful farmer and plantation expert and closely associated with the government recognised National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Mohali, Mr. Singh holds the position of CEO at the Punjab Agro Technologies and Punzam Agro Ltd in Lusaka, Zambia. Mehar also holds the position of Organising Secretary at the Environment Society in Punjab and shifts his time travelling between Punjab and Zambia.

Rosetta Thomas, Business Development Consultant

Rosetta Thomas is Humanity Africa’s Business Development Volunteer. Rosetta graduated from Kingston University Business School achieving a BA Honors in Business Development Management. Rosetta is working on various areas of project development within Humanity Africa’s portfolio. She is currently working on producing content and writing business plan for the Nutri-Globe Moringa Product; alongside this she is reaching out to educational partners to support the reconstruction and supply of educational materials for Katemo Primary School in Mkushi, Zambia.

Tanha Habib ACIM, Business Development Consultant

Tanha Habib is an international development consultant, having previously worked with BRAC in Bangladesh and the UK, Concern Worldwide, and several projects of Swedish International Development Agency (SIDA) and Kumudini Welfare Trust of Bengal (BD) Ltd. She holds a BA in English with a concentration in Applied Linguistics and ELT from BRAC University and an MA in Human Rights from the Institute of Commonwealth Studies, University in London. She specialises in child education and disaster risk reduction and is a skilled fundraiser in the UK for national and international development projects. She also works with small businesses in the UK to help them secure funding and contracts from statutory and non-statutory bodies.
